About Ghorepani Poon Hill:
The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is an easy to moderate level trek that is considered one of the best treks in Nepal. This trek offers striking views of some of the most majestic Himalayan Mountains like Fishtail, Annapurna South, and Hiuchuli. During the trek, you walk amongst lush green forests blazing with beautiful red rhododendron.
You will get a chance to observe the lives of the local Gurung tribe when you stay amidst the beautiful hamlet that you cross on your way. On the way, you will be tracing the ancient trade routes used by Nepalese people. Poon Hill is a place known for its beautiful views of the rising sun. Here you can see the sun dawning on some of the highest Himalayan Mountain ranges. This trek route is famous for its alternating gradient between forests, plain fields, and hills.
About the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek:
During the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, you will pass through charming hamlets and villages and see some of the most magnificent snow-capped mountain peaks. You shall get a chance to see the lifestyle of the native Gurung people in the villages and enjoy the traditional Nepalese hospitality.
This trekking in Pokhara lets you experience the magical sunrise at the Poon Hill viewpoint. Throughout your trek, you shall be able to grasp the view of Himalayan ranges that constitute Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, Annapurna South, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, and Lamjung Hima.
The Ghorepani trekking activity provides you with comfortable hotel pickup and drop-off facility in a convenient private car. The package is also inclusive of warm stay in 3* hotel for 2 days in both Kathmandu and Pokhara respectively with breakfast. Besides, the activity the package takes care of all accommodations in lodges/tea houses during the treks.
The trekking activity also includes lunch, dinner and breakfast during trekking. Nevertheless, the package contains a National park permit, Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) Permit, in addition to all necessary paper works.
The 7 day’s activity package is also inclusive of an experienced, helpful and friendly guide, porters (1 porter for 2 clients) who would promote your safety and well-being throughout the trip. There is also the arrangement of travel rescue along with all necessary medical supplies (first aid kit will be available) in case of any emergency situation.

- Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the plains; take adequate time to get acclimatized to high altitudes.
- The management reserves all the right to modify the trek during any emergencies or natural calamities.
- Pay heed to the trek guides and instructors in order to enjoy a safe and sound trek.
- The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek takes place through an eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites. Travelers littering may be fined.
- Do not encourage trekking during the night unless it is a part of the itinerary and a guide is with you; this might lead to unforeseen mishaps.
- Avoid using earphones during the trek; this might hinder your audibility.
- Avoid using plastic bags and maintain the ecological balance of the destinations.
- In case, the trek needs to be canceled, the authorities should be informed beforehand
- Guidelines issued by the State-Government are to be followed. Social distancing to be maintained. Frequent hand sanitization and the use of masks are recommended. Please provide a valid ID at the time of check-in

- Professional guide(s) are available to ensure high safety and more information and personal attention which are necessary to appreciate a trek.
- Neat and clean vehicle for the journey with experienced drivers especially for hilly terrains available
- Camping is very basic in nature. One must not expect luxuries. Electricity may be available only at a few locations
- Mobile & laptop charging points may/may not be available on campsites at a common point.
- Any personal expenses, items of personal nature, meals not mentioned, etc. will not be in part of the package.
- Carry dry snacks/food from home (you will save a lot of money). Carry water bottles with you, so that you can refill.
- Keep your luggage minimum; the more you carry, the more you hassle.
- Consult a physician before undertaking the trek as the gradient ranges to difficult. Carry basic medications and a first-aid kit during the trek
- It is recommended to carry enough warm clothes as the temperature can drop down to -4°C and also keep the right kind of shoes for the trek.
- Please provide a valid ID at the time of check-in for detailed verification.
- All the activities depend upon the weather as there can be tuff snowy trails.
- Children below the age of 7 years are not recommended for Ghorepani Poon Hill trek as the trekking gradient is difficult.

Tour Plan
Day 1 Arrive in Katmandu Airport
- On the first day of your arrival, you will be welcomed at the hotel that marks the start of the trekking trip.
- Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2 Drive from Katmandu to Pokhara – approx 7 Hours
- This drive will take most of our morning time, leaving much of the afternoon to get a warming glimpse of Pokhara Valley and fall in love with its ethereal beauty. You can observe the glistening white peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
- Stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.
Day 3 Ghorepani – Poon Hill – Ghandruk
- You begin your trek from Nayapul (1050m.) and pass via Birethanti (1065m.). The first part of your trek is comfortable, alongside numerous small hamlets and settlements.
- Afterwards, you ascend gently to the final destination of the day to Tikhedhunga (1577 m). The journey will involve four and a half hours of trekking.
- Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 4 Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani – 6 Hours approx
- Your trek begins with a steep 2 hours ascend and then level gently passing through Magar villages of Ulleri (2070m.) and Banthanti.
- On the way, you can see the scenic view of Machhapuchhare or Fish Tail (6997m.), Hiunchuli (6441m.), and Annapurna south (7219m).
- Now your trail becomes easier, as it passes through the forest and descends gently to the final camp.
- Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 5 Trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill – Pokhara – 7 hours approx
- Early morning trip to Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), TukuchePeak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhre (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and other numerous snow-capped mountain peaks.
- After breakfast, trek Ghorepani to Tikhendunga (2650 m.) then Pokhara through the deep forests of rhododendrons, bamboos and oaks.
- En route, you frequently see waterfalls, rocks, wild animals, local birds and green scenarios.
Day 6 Drive from Pokhara to Katmandu – 7 Hours approx
- While driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you head up to Damauli, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where Nepal’s first Cable car is operated to reach Manakamana Temple.
- En route, you can enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and people being engaged in their daily life activities.
- From Naubishe you climb up to Thankot, the gateway to Kathmandu.
Day 7 Departure to Airport
On the 7th day, you finally come to that point of time where the adventurous trekking trip comes to an end.
